The Solution

This project for us was purely passion driven and saw precast components used at one of India’s most prestigious and important sites.

The task was seemingly simple: design cable ducting for the Kartavya Path, but the execution was much more complex. The stringent security regulations in place for this region meant that any solution we provided needed to be underground so no one without clearance could have access to them. Since the site hosts several high-profile, influential individuals, the quality and security of the components provided were integral.

We conceptualised the use of large-sized underground FT Flumes for this project, an unconventional application of this component. Since the location of these ducts was only going to bear the pedestrian load, we could use FT Flumes; they can take the weight of soil and people walking without difficulty.

This unique engineering solution replaced the proposed cast in-situ infrastructure with better and safer precast infrastructure. Not only did this ensure FUJI Silvertech’s involvement in this project, but it also achieved the initial construction timeline of a year. Completing the project within the timeline was quite a feat considering the weather stopping work in the winter.

The FT Flumes provided were approved after stringent quality checks that satisfied the security requirement and ensured the quality in terms of fire, water, and electricity resistance.
